Using Devil Mode/Angel Mode in traversal & platforming is a great idea, & branches the mechanic from more than just a combat perspective, it's just a shame the game didn't utilise this more. (EG: /\ /\, pause, R2 + /\ causes Arbiters third pause strike) functionally this is a very useful tool. By this i mean the pause altering attacks can be interchanged from weapon to weapon. The transition points for weapons is a good idea for combat purposes. The "Weapon X only hurts enemy X" style in some of the fights is very tedious, but generally it doesn't swamp the game so badly that it becomes frustrating Combat is more than passable & is quite fun, sure it's never going to get any good combo videos, but you can't deny the layout of the weapons has a relative function, albeit a tad formulaic
